Package installation

Once the prerequisites are installed, proceed with the installation of the Centreon BAM module.

Add the Centreon Bam repository and install the package:

# cd /etc/yum.repos.d
# wget http://url-to-centreon-bam-repository.repo
# yum install centreon-bam-server

Licence

A license file named « merethis_lic.zl » should be provided to you by Centreon. Copy this file in the license directory of the module, then reload the Apache server:

# cp merethis_lic.zl /usr/share/centreon/www/modules/centreon-bam-server/license/
# /etc/init.d/httpd reload

Web install

Connect on the Centreon web interface using an account with privileges to install modules. Then, go in the menu Administration > Extensions.

Click on installation icon corresponding to Centreon BAM modules in the Actions column:

Click on Install module button:

Click on “Back”, the module is now installed:

Warning

If you’re using a MySQL replication for your monitoring databases, when Centreon BAM is installed, a views is created. You need to exclude it from the replication by adding the following line on the my.cnf file of the slave server.

replicate-wild-ignore-table=mod_bam_view_kpi

Then, create the view manually on the slave server by launching the following command line:

# mysql centreon < view_creation.sql

Centreon Broker automatic configuration

Centreon BAM installation or update automaticaly creates Centreon Broker outputs.

This documentation not describes the standard configuration of Centreon Broker

The configuration consists of two outputs that you may not have to modify :

  • centreon-bam-monitoring type “BAM - Monitoring engine (BAM)”: in charge of the insertion of all Business Activities status changes in database

  • centreon-bam-reporting type “BAM - BI engine (BAM)”: in charge of the insertion of availibility data in databases
